“Land use consent was granted for the development of Tauhara Ridge in 2009, with considerable support. ”
A new community village, based around sustainable development principles. Covering 180ha the design achieves an integrated mixed use residential area that provides a range of housing and lifecycle options. This development is one of the major catalysts in a wider economic regeneration and re-development programme initiated by Taupo District Council.
At the time Urbanlogic’s Director Ian J Vincent was the project manager and responsible for the landscape concept development for the 180ha new neighbourhood, including streetscape guidelines and the openspace framework, the proposal was an innovative approach to public space design, including town centres all public open space, and conceptual ideas for all connectivity routes.
Ian was also responsible for the masterplan and detail design for the first stage of development which is now constructed. Victoria Stage 2
It also supported the incorporation of land development strategy and sustainable engineering and design approach. Such approaches are setting new standards for urban development in New Zealand.
